Four Generations in the recycling business.
In 1919, Vincenzo Ponte and his wife left Italy to start a family in Brooklyn, NY. With Italian being his first language, there wasn't much work for him. He started by collecting newspapers on the streets of New York with just a push wagon, and sold the papers to local mills, that would then recycle the papers.
Vincenzo worked long hard hours but was able to save enough money to purchase a horse to wheel his wagon around. He was now able to travel further, slowly starting to get more and more business. Once he was established, his four sons joined the family business. They eventually grew out of the Tribeca facility and moved to Jersey City, NJ. Eventually, Vincenzo's four sons took over, handing down the business to their sons, who have now handed down the business to their sons.
All American Recycling is a 4th generation family-owned business that takes pride in their great-great grandfather's self-made operation. They continue to treat every customer with the same kindness and respect Vincenzo always had, when all he had was a push wagon.
